The Stockholm North police area is divided into seven local police areas: Norrtälje, Southern Roslagen, Sollentuna, Solna, Järva, Järfälla, and Vällingby. At the police area level, there are the investigation duty section, serious crimes section, surveillance section, section for crimes in close relationships, and the operational support section. Furthermore, there is a police area administration.

The investigation duty section is organized at the police area level. The function is responsible for preliminary investigation leadership and initial investigative measures for the entire police area around the clock. The mission of the investigation duty section is to meet and handle the police area's inflow of crime reports at an early stage of the investigation, both in prioritized cases with, for example, detained persons and in mass crimes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a duty investigator leader, you are responsible for the initial investigative measures in all types of cases that come to the police area. You handle detained suspects of crimes, review incoming cases, and lead assigned investigative personnel.

You will also work with expedited prosecution (SLF), in which the duty investigator leader and the investigation duty section as a whole play a key role. The duty investigator leader ensures the quality of all cases and then handles the administrative tasks that follow from the case being managed within the framework of SLF.

You need to have solid knowledge of the authority's mission, goals, and governing documents so that you can independently assess and prioritize actions within the framework of preliminary investigations.

Main job responsibilities:

• Be responsible for initial investigative measures in cases that come to the police area.
• Lead investigators in cases of varying significance and complexity.
• Lead preliminary investigations and report cases within the working method of expedited prosecution.
• Distribute cases that are not completed by the investigation duty.
• Create dialogue and participation together with investigators, IGV/BF personnel, and other staff in the area.
• Ensure the quality of reporting and support and coach reporting patrols with extensive first-hand measures.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

• Swedish police examination according to Regulation (2014:1105)
• Preliminary investigation leader training, the police's national or other that qualifies you as a competent preliminary investigation leader
• Relevant experience of independent criminal investigative work
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is advantageous if you also have:

• Worked in a duty environment or routinely handled investigations with detained individuals
• Experience in leadership that the employer assesses as relevant
• Completed any of the police authority's management training or other internal/external leadership training
• Experience and familiarity with leading preliminary investigations that the employer assesses as relevant
• Experience from external service and especially leadership in external service
